Crash closes southbound lanes of I-45 at Emmett F. Lowry Expressway in Texas City

TEXAS CITY, Texas – A crash has closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 45 in Texas City.
According to Houston Transtar, the crash is located near the intersection of I-45 and FM 1764/Emmett F. Lowry Expressway.
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office said it was a single-vehicle crash and happened on the overpass. One person has been transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Cameras in the area show a heavy backup.
Prepare for delays or seek an alternate route.
