Adrian Peterson arrested in Fort Bend County on DWI, gun charges

Former Texas high school football legend and NFL star Adrian Peterson was arrested in Sugar Land Sunday morning.

The arrest was reported by the Fort Bend County public jail records. Peterson was charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and driving while intoxicated.

This incident marks Peterson’s second DWI charge in 2025. Back in April, he was arrested for DWI in Minnesota after attending a Vikings’ draft party.

Peterson was a star high school football player in Palestine, Texas. After a decorated career at the University of Oklahoma, Peterson was a star running back for 15 seasons in the NFL. He was named Most Valuable Player in the league in 2012.

Records did not indicate whether or not Peterson was granted bail or if he had been released.
