LIST: Events canceled due to severe weather this weekend

HOUSTON – A cold front is expecting to bring Houston two rounds of rainfall this Saturday.

These storms are bringing a flood threat, and a severe weather threat. This includes the risk for hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

With the threat of flooding, many events are being canceled and rescheduled.

Here’s a list we have gathered so far:

Magnolia Park Dia de los Muertos at Hidalgo Park - Rescheduled

Due to the forecast and possible muddy conditions this weekend, the DDLM Parade and Festival will be rescheduled.

A new date has not been set at this time.

Tanger Outlets’ Festival of Frights - Postponed

“Due to this weekend’s weather conditions, our Halloween celebration has been rescheduled to Saturday, Nov. 1 from 12–2 p.m.

“Join us and our sponsor UTMB for spooky fun featuring a Beetlejuice DJ, a stilt walker, face painting, The Addams Family, a costume contest, and more!”

Willow Waterhole Greenway’s MusicFEST 2025 - Canceled

“This weekend MusicFEST has been canceled due to forecasted heavy rain. We’re rescheduling for Spring 2026 with a new date to be announced soon.

“We look forward to seeing everyone when MusicFEST returns.”

Discovery Green’s Scream on the Green annual Halloween Celebration - Canceled

“Boooooooo! Due to expected rain on Saturday, Oct. 25, Scream on the Green® is canceled.

“We’d still like to invite you to compete in the costume contest by submitting a photo of yourself online! Our partners and friends have given us tons of great treats to hand out to winners. You have until midnight on Oct. 31 to submit the form below to enter.

“Winners will be announced on Nov. 3!”

Memorial Park Conservancy’s Live at Live Oak Celebrating Diwali - Canceled

“This event has been canceled due to weather.”

Alvin Community College’s Fall Festival - Canceled

“Due to the weather forecast for Saturday, Oct. 25, ACC’s 50th Annual Fall Festival has been canceled. Safety comes first, and the expected conditions make it impossible to hold the event as planned.”
