According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies with Constable Precinct 1 spotted a vehicle connected to an earlier carjacking on the city’s northwest side near Highway 249 and Antoine around 9:45 p.m. When they tried to pull the driver over, the driver sped off, sparking a chase that lasted nearly 45 minutes.

Investigators said the chase went through several major roadways, including I-45, Hardy Toll Road, and Airline Drive. At one point, a deputy’s patrol unit collided with a motorcycle near Aldine Bender and Hardy Toll Road.

The pursuit ended when the unidentified suspect crashed near Sunnyside and ran off before getting caught by deputies.

Authorities said the driver is expected to face multiple charges, including aggravated robbery, felony evading, and possibly home invasion, as the investigation continues.
