HOUSTON – A local tow company helped a woman escape a sinkhole after her vehicle got trapped Thursday afternoon in northwest Harris County.
Around 2:30 p.m., the owner of OnlyTow Wrecker Service and a coworker were returning to their shop from a job when they found a woman trapped in her car in a sinkhole at the intersection of Hardway and Antione, the owner said.

They stopped and helped the woman get the vehicle out of the hollowed-out spot in the road, the owner said. The woman told them she had just come out of a CVS when the ground fell away beneath her, creating the sinkhole.
“I was shocked when I saw the lady’s car,” the owner said. He declined to be named.
The owner said the woman was not injured and refused medical attention at the scene. He said the vehicle sustained minor damage to the front and the undercarriage, and the woman drove off in the car.
