Lt. JP Horelica with the Houston Police Department said just a little before 11:45 p.m., on Unity Drive near Richmond Avenue, officers were flagged down by witnesses to report a body down the street. Police found the unidentified man on the sidewalk just south of the Skyline intersection, who suffered several gunshot wounds, and pronounced him dead at the scene.
It’s unclear how the man was killed, and the only suspect information Lt. Horelica noted was a younger man wearing all black and driving a black car.

There were reports of a carjacking in the area, Lt. Horelica noted, but it’s unclear if it was related to the shooting, and it is part of HPD’s ongoing investigation.
