The incident happened at a property in the 4700 block of Whispering Falls Drive near Bear Creek Pioneers Park.

The house had reportedly been condemned since Hurricane Harvey in 2017, and the family that had lived there sold it to a company.

When the company examined the home Monday, human bones were found underneath a blanket.

The Harris County Precinct Five Constable’s Office investigated the situation. They clarified that there was no carpet involved in the situation, as was initially reported.

The investigation determined that the remains belonged to an elderly woman who died in her sleep many years ago.

There was no smell to the remains, and investigators believe they had been there for years.
