Suspect accused of stabbing police dog wanted for questioning regarding dad’s death, HPD says
Authorities have arrested a man accused of leading law enforcement officers on two separate chases, stabbing a K-9 police dog and wanted for questioning in the death of his father. Ryan Mitchell Smith, 26, was located about 2 p.m. Tuesday walking along Highway 159 in Waller County. He was arrested without incident by a trooper with the Texas Department Public Safety.
Man reported missing by family members found dead inside of vehicle in west Houston
HOUSTON – A man’s body has been found inside of a vehicle at an apartment complex in west Houston, Houston police confirmed. “The investigator located the victim’s vehicle in this parking lot and called the police department. The police and fire department came out and found the adult male,” Lt. Larry Crowson with HPD said. We don’t know of any attachment to this apartment complex. The apartment complex is kind of random,” Crowson said.
Mom finds son dead at home in northeast Harris County, deputies say
HUMBLE, Texas – Harris County sheriff’s deputies are investigating after they said a man was found dead by his mother at his home in northeast Harris County Sunday. Deputies said they were called to a residence located in the 9200 block of Red Castle Lane around 10:25 p.m. Badger’s mother told deputies she entered the residence and located her son unresponsive in the bedroom. Deputies said EMS responded to the scene and determined the victim was dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Deputies said the case is being investigated by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit.

Man killed by thief breaking into his car in southwest Houston, police say
HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating after a man said his neighbor’s body was found in his driveway in southwest Houston Thursday. Police are now saying the victim was fatally shot by a car thief. Officers said the body was found in the 2100 block of Summit Meadow Drive near Fondren Road around 6:28 a.m. According to investigators, police received a call from a resident saying his neighbor’s body was in his driveway. HPD Homicide Detective Chris Sturdivant said that the homeowner interrupted someone breaking into his car and that is when he was shot.

Man fatally shot in back of apartment complex in Alief, police say
HOUSTON – Police said they are trying to figure out what led up to a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in Alief Wednesday. Officers said around 10 p.m. they responded to a report of gunshots and people yelling at the Magnolia Terrace Apartments on Synott Road. According to investigators, they found a man dead in the back of the complex near a dumpster with several gunshot wounds. Police said there is no word yet on any suspect info or arrests.
Man’s body found in Children’s Museum of Houston’s parking garage, police say
HOUSTON – Police are investigating after a man’s body was found in the Children’s Museum of Houston’s parking garage Friday. Police said the man’s body was found on the second floor of the garage located near the 1400 block of Binz Street around 6:12 a.m. According to HPD homicide detectives, a maintenance worker discovered the body. Right now, we have no witnesses and no ID on the male,” said HPD Detective Stark. Investigators said the victim is a man in his 30′s.

Man found dead with gunshot wounds in burning home in SE Houston, police say
HOUSTON – Homicide investigators are trying to piece together what happened after they said firefighters found a dead man’s body inside a burning home in southeast Houston Thursday. Police said the incident happened off Hogue Street near Bellfort around 5 p.m. Officials said Houston firefighters located a house with smoke coming out of it and searched the residence. According to investigators, firefighters found a man who appeared to have been shot several times and possibly stabbed. Police said it appears the fire was intentionally set.
Uber Eats driver finds man’s body at apartment complex, deputies say
HOUSTON – Deputies are investigating after they said an Uber Eats driver found a man’s dead body at an apartment complex Monday. Deputies said the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Cypress Creek EMS responded after the driver found the body at an apartment complex located at 905 Cypress Station near Rustyleaf Lane at around 12:45 a.m. According to investigators that were at the scene, the Uber Eats driver found an unresponsive black male with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the apartment complex by the dumpster. Deputies said there isn’t any suspect info or known motive. Deputies said they are hoping to find clues on nearby surveillance video.
Woman’s body found in back seat of van in southeast Houston: Police
HOUSTON – Police are investigating after they said a security guard at a southeast Houston park discovered a woman’s dead body in the back seat of a van Wednesday night. According to investigators, the guard didn’t see the van pull up while he was making his rounds at the Sagemont Park Community Center on Hughes Road. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the woman dead from gunshot wounds. Police said they believe the woman died somewhere else and that her body was dumped along with the van at the park. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Woman’s body found in Lake Houston, police say
HOUSTON – Houston police said they are investigating after a woman’s body was found in Lake Houston Monday night. A resident walking along Lake Houston in the 13000 block of Lakeside Terrace Drive at around 7 p.m. saw a body in the lake and called 911, HPD Sergeant J. Saldana and Detective C. Sharp said. The victim’s body was retrieved, and police said there were no apparent signs of trauma to the woman’s body. Police said the woman’s identity and cause of her death are pending following an autopsy. When they arrived at the scene, officers said they found an unidentified man’s body in a ditch. Investigators said a worker was picking up trash along the road and found a body in a ditch with a gunshot wound. Authorities say they haven’t found any shell casings or much evidence at the scene, causing them to believe the body was dumped there. Detectives say in the last few months, there was another body dumped nearby.
