LA MARQUE, Texas – A shelter-in-place that had been issued for some La Marque residents due to a gas leak has been lifted.
The City of La Marque issued the shelter-in-place after they say a third-party contractor struck a gas line in the area of Laurel and First St.

Residents in the area of Laurel and First, and between Elmo and Bayou, were asked to stay indoors, close all windows and doors, and turn off air-conditioning and heating systems until the shelter-in-place was lifted.
At 3:55 p.m., the city said the leak had been isolated and the shelter-in-place was lifted.
