An off-duty METRO police officer is recovering in the hospital after crashing his motorcycle while assisting in a funeral escort on Wednesday afternoon.

It’s unclear what led up to the crash, as of this writing, but Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed the accident on X, saying it happened on Fellows Road at Cullen.
The officer, who has only been described as a Sergeant with the METRO Police Department, was rushed to a hospital.
