More than 40 years later, his identity remains a mystery. Investigators know a few details: he was likely between 30 and 40 years old, stood 5′2″ to 5′6″, and weighed 110 to 120 pounds. His brown hair was receding, and he had blue eyes.

Distinctive scars and surgical marks covered his body, including surgical stitches under his right eye, a 3 1/2-inch scar on his left upper chest, a 7-inch scar on his right lower leg, a 6 1/2-inch scar on his left lower leg, and a 9-inch semi-circular scar on his left hip.”

When discovered, he was wearing a green, army-style coat, a green-and-black checked shirt, a white insulated undershirt, blue jeans, mismatched socks, brown cowboy boots, and a worn pair of brown gloves. No personal items were found to provide clues to his life, and his dental condition offered no leads.

Online discussion groups have speculated that he may have been homeless or simply passing through Houston, with some suggesting he could have been a military veteran who received medical care at a VA hospital.
