Details are limited due to how active the investigation is, but Lt. M. Rylander with the Houston Police Department said it happened around 1:40 a.m. when officers were called to the shooting on Texas Avenue and Travis Street.
Several bullet holes were visible in a car, where an unidentified man in the driver’s seat was found with a gunshot wound to his head. He was rushed to a nearby hospital.
An unidentified passenger was also in the car, unharmed, but suffered a panic attack and was taken to the hospital as well.
It’s unclear what led up to the shooting, but Lt. Rylander said police have an idea of where the gunfire came from, but are combing through the area for surveillance video as part of the ongoing investigation.
