Suspect Shot And Killed After High Speed Chase Believed To Be Same Gunman Who Fired On Spring Police Station
The final confrontation involved the suspect driving dangerously around gas stations and small businesses near the Greenspoint Mall, attempting to evade law enforcement vehicles. Just outside of the Goodwill store off Greenspoint Drive a Houston PD SWAT vehicle intentionally collided with the suspect vehicle head-on, stopping the chase. No law enforcement officers were wounded in the confrontation. Because Houston PD had staged law enforcement vehicles in the area they were able to quickly join the pursuit. Spring, Texas โ Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables, along with the Houston Police Department are in pursuit of a suspect who allegedly shot at a Spring Police Station, Monday. A Precinct 4 Constable spotted the suspect Thursday morning on 610 in the Pasadena area, and a chase ensued. The chase has led deputies through Downtown Houston and they have now made their way back to Interstate 45 headed North. The Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter is tracking the white sedan as it weaves in and out of traffic in south Houston. According to radio reports, dispatch advising the responding officers that the suspect is wearing a bullet proof vest and is armed.

Now a post-tropical cyclone, Beta brought record amounts of rainfall to the Houston area and flooded multiple area roadways and low-lying areas. Street flooding in Houston led to nearly 100 water rescues on roadways Monday night and Tuesday, according to the Houston Fire Department. Houston Public Works reported more than 100,000 gallons of domestic wastewater spilled in five locations Tuesday due to Tropical Storm Beta. Residents with water service provided by the City of Houston do not need to boil water, according to Public Works. Houston Public Media reporter Matt Harab also contributed to this report.

Silent disco to take over this Downtown Houston rooftop
Downtown DistrictHOUSTON - The area's largest and quietest dancing experience is coming to Downtown Houston this month. The Houston Downtown Management District and The Department of Dance are holding a silent disco on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The event is open to ages 21 and older on the rooftop of the GreenStreet Garage at 1320 Fannin Street. Parking in the GreenStreet Garage will be available for a special rate of $5.
