Hartgrove was arrested Wednesday at his home by detectives with Constable Precinct One’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit.
Detectives said they found “hundreds” of images of child pornography on a computer at the residence.
There is no evidence at this point that any children he worked with at the church, as a youth counselor, were exploited in these alleged crimes.
Among the videos he is accused of possessing is one involving girls, approximately 11 to 13 years old titled, “Jailbait July.”
Deputies did not disclose which church he worked at or previous churches.
Detectives ask anyone who has information about the defendant and inappropriate contact with children to contact the Harris County Constable Precinct One Internet Crimes Against Children Unit at 713-222-4929.
