HOUSTON ā A driver is lucky to be alive after authorities said he got stuck underneath an 18-wheeler but was rescued before it caught fire.
It happened a bit before 1:15 a.m. when Lt. R. Willkens with the Houston Police Department said a driver was going northbound on I-45 and Crosstimbers Street.

The driver told police he swerved so as not to hit something on the roadway, but wound up getting under an 18-wheeler in the process.

Lt. Willkens said another driver saw the car stuck under the 18-wheeler and got that driverās attention and pulled over. Both of them were able to safely get that driver under the big rig out of his vehicle before it burst into flames.

The Houston Fire Department arrived and was able to put the flames out.
