Authorities seek person of interest in Sugar Land who allegedly fired at deputies

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in finding a man accused of firing at deputies.

The person of interest has been identified as Billy Alfaro, 35. He is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Alfaro is considered armed and dangerous.

At about 2:50 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, deputies responded to a welfare check at the 11200 block of Beverly Park Street in Sugar Land after reports of arguing and loud banging.

When deputies arrived, an adult male tried to flee but was quickly arrested. During the arrest, a second man, believed to be Alfaro, exited the home and fired shots at a deputy before retreating inside. No injuries were reported.

SWAT arrived and ordered all occupants out of the house. The second man fled and is currently being searched for.
