HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department is continuing its traffic safety initiative this week, targeting busy Houston area highways
The City of Houston announced the initiative’s goal is to tackle the road rage and aggressive driving problem on Houston highways.
In June, HPD gave out 300 citations in 2-day span in new traffic safety initiative push. Officers were targeting tailgating, speeding, reckless driving and road rage, among other violations.
The department will continue giving out citations on Wednesday and Thursday on the following highways:
- I-45 North Freeway
- US-59 North Highway
- Highway 249
🚨 HPD, & partner agencies will continue to address traffic violations tomorrow & Thursday. Expect increased enforcement on I-45 North, US-59 North, & Highway 249. 🚨
