Family pleads for answers in Galleria-area murder as reward doubles to $10,000

HOUSTON – The family of Christopher Walker II continues their quest for justice six months after his murder in Houston’s Galleria area, with Crime Stoppers doubling the reward to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Walker, 30, was fatally shot during a robbery on January 16 in the Post Oak parking lot after leaving a restaurant in the Galleria area.

His father, Chris Walker, spoke publicly with KPRC 2 for the first time about the devastating loss.

“He was an incredible young man who had just celebrated his 30th birthday on January 13,” the elder Walker said, fighting back tears during an interview at the scene of the crime. “My wife and I talked about our future, his future, grandkids, and now that’s all gone.”

Elder Walker says the assailant robbed his son of his wallet and other personal belongings before shooting him. A friend rushed Walker to a nearby urgent care facility, where he was pronounced dead within eight minutes of arrival.

“We just both fell on the floor, crying hysterically,” Walker’s father recalled about the moment he and his wife received the news of their son’s death.

Andy Kahan, Director of Victim Services at Crime Stoppers Houston, emphasized the crucial role of public assistance in solving this case.

“The public is our best eyes and ears out there,” Kahan stated. “We’re asking for someone to step up to the plate, do the right thing, and give this family some peace of mind.”

In an emotional appeal, the victim’s father referenced his faith while addressing his son’s killer.

“The Bible says, ‘Vengeance is mine,’ said the Lord. I would hope that in their conscience, they won’t be able to rest until they come forward.”
