HUMBLE, Texas – An inmate who escaped from a facility in Atascocita was captured Friday in Humble, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a call regarding a suspicious person or possible escaped inmate spotted at a Dollar Store located at 1701 Atascocita Road.

The caller described the man as having tattoos on his face and traveling southbound on Wilson Road.
When deputies arrived, they found the man underneath a bridge in the 3900 block of Wilson Road, near the bayou.
The escaped inmate reportedly tried to outrun deputies but was eventually detained.
It was later discovered that the suspect did not escape from a state jail, but instead left the Community Corrections Facility located at 2310 Atascocita Road.
Charges were filed against the inmate for unauthorized absence from the Community Corrections Facility and evading arrest on foot.
