Sky 2 was live above the crash scene on I-45 going northbound before Patton Street and Crosstimbers, respectively.
KPRC 2 is actively working to gather more details, but from what we’ve learned, several lanes were blocked off due to a truck leaking a heavy amount of oil.
Hazmat units were dispatched to clean up the spill, and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
No additional information has been shared, as of this writing, so it’s unclear if anyone was injured.
This is the third incident on the North Freeway causing an inconvenience for drivers on Thursday morning. Earlier in the day, just before 4 a.m. when police reported a multi-vehicle crash with an 18-wheeler hauling beer on the North Freeway toward Little York.

Investigators said at least one car suffered serious damage, and another vehicle was a METRO Lift, which may have had a passenger inside when the crash occurred.
We’re told only one person was hospitalized, but the freeway was completely shut down as the big rig took up at least two lanes until about 6:30 a.m.
This is a developing story and will continue to be updated as more information becomes available.
