Family shares TikTok video linked to accused killer in Marine Veteran’s Galleria parking lot shooting

New details are emerging about the shooting death of Marine veteran Anthony Sanders inside the orange garage at Houston’s Galleria Mall last month.

Sanders’ mother tells KPRC 2 Investigates reporter Bill Spencer that she was actually on a live phone call with her son when he was killed. She also shared a social media video with prosecutors in the case. A video made by one of the two men now charged with murder in this case.

The shooting occurred June 3, according to court records, following an argument between Sanders and two men, Marko Cinan, 23, and 22-year-old Justin Guzman. The dispute involved Sanders’ fiancée. When Sanders tried to leave the parking lot with his fiancée and his 10-month-old son, the two men allegedly blocked his car, preventing him from driving away.

Investigators say when Sanders got out of his car to complain, he was shot 10 times.

“We’re here today because we just want justice for our son,” Sanders’ mother, Ronyel Sanders said. “Anthony passed away protecting his son and his fiancée. That’s what he does.”

Bill Spencer reported that Sanders’ mother found a TikTok video recently posted by Guzman. The video features news clips about Sanders’ murder set to hip-hop music, with Guzman dancing around. The family sent that video to investigators on the case.

Meanwhile, Sanders’ family continues to grieve and seek justice.

“We are here for justice, just for Anthony, and also just to… just to stand for what he stood for as a person and also to bring awareness to what’s going on in today’s society here in Houston alone,” said Frank Sanders, Anthony’s father.
