9th New Orleans escaped inmate captured, report says

NEW ORLEANS – After being on the run for months, the ninth inmate has been captured in New Orleans, according to NBC affiliate WDSU.

Antoine Massey, 32, was reportedly captured Friday afternoon in the Hollygrove neighborhood.

Massey, along with nine others escaped from the Orleans Parish Jail on May 16. He was in jail for charges of kidnapping, rape, domestic battery involving strangulation and motor vehicle theft.

Massey has a criminal background and escape history that dates back to 2007.

The last inmate, convicted murderer Derrick Groves, remain on the run.

The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact local law enforcement immediately.
