HOUSTON – Two robbery suspects are now in custody after firing several shots at undercover police officers in southeast Houston Tuesday afternoon.
Before the shooting, Houston police said the two suspects robbed a Family Dollar store.

Officers, who were with a multi-agency task force were nearby on an unrelated investigation, saw the robbery and started following the suspects and the driver in the getaway vehicle.
Police said the suspects started firing shots at the undercover officers during the chase. No officers were injured.
The officers then lost track of the suspects’ vehicle for a short time but were able to find the two suspects in a backyard in the 10900 block of Cullen Boulevard thanks to K9 Taz.
Officers took the two robbery suspects into custody but the getaway driver got away and still on the run.
