HOUSTON – Houstonians know all too well about the dreadful heat, but residents in need can always turn to cooling shelters, and now there will be an additional number of centers to help people escape the heatwave.
Mayor John Whitmire will be joined by Reliant officials for a news conference Thursday to announce 23 new cooling centers, courtesy of the energy giant’s $78K donation for more than 200 A/C units.
