HOUSTON – A fatal shooting in Houston’s Midtown left one man dead late Wednesday afternoon.
The call came in just after 5:25 p.m. for a shooting in the 2200 block of Main Street, near the Gulf Freeway.

When officers with HPD’s South Central Division arrived, they found a man dead with a gunshot wound at the scene.
Police say shortly afterwards, a man came up to officers and surrendered, saying he was the shooter.
Lt. Larry Crowson with HPD said the man told them he was in the parking lot when another man tried to rob him. He said he pulled out a gun and shot the man.
Investigators are looking through surveillance video at the scene. Once the investigation is completed, they will contact the district attorney’s office to see how they want to proceed with this case.
