HOUSTON – Houston Police say a body was found near where White Oak Bayou meets Buffalo Bayou in downtown Monday.

HPD says they received the call around 8 p.m.
Lt. Larry Crowson says employees from nearby UH-Downtown noticed the body in the water and called police.

Crowson said a boom used by cleaning crews to catch litter floating in the bayou caught the body.
They believe the body belongs to a man, but they aren’t completely sure right now.
The identity and cause of death is unknown right now. An autopsy will be performed.
