AUSTIN, Texas – During an epochal wave of reboots, remakes, and revivals, viewers may finally have something worth looking forward to.
The iconic animated sitcom, “King of the Hill,” is officially coming back to the small screen via Hulu. The series first premiered in 1997 and went on for 13 seasons before its initial conclusion in 2009. Now, more than 15 years later, the Emmy-winning series, set in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas, is coming back!

An exact date for when people can stream has not been provided, but estimated to be sometime this summer. However, some Texas fans won’t have to wait too long and get a first look at the series revival during the ATX TV Festival at Paramount Theatre in Austin.
Known facetiously as “TV Camp for Grown Ups,” sitcom fans and industry folks will gather in downtown Austin for a weekend to see how their favorite shows are made, hear from creators and cast members, and attend special screening events.

Not only will ATX TV Fest attendees get a chance to see “King of the Hill‘s” premiere, but the cast and creators will also hold a panel conversation to discuss the series and revisit past episodes and their experiences working on the show.
That panel includes Pamela Adlon, who voices Bobby Hill, Toby Huss, and co-creators Greg Daniels and Mike Judge. The latter also voices the titular character Hank Hill and his close friend Boomhauer.

“King of the Hill” is the second series by Mike Judge to see a revival. The first being, of course, “Beavis and Butthead,” which according to Variety, will have its third season debut on Comedy Central this July. Its first two seasons previously aired on Paramount+ and were preceded by its revival film, “Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.”
