It happened around 10 p.m. when Houston police said they were called to a hit-and-run crash on Westheimer near Highway 6. Responding officers found an unidentified man lying in the roadway and rushed him to a hospital via helicopter, where he succumbed to his injuries hours later.

Preliminary evidence suggests a white tow truck hit the pedestrian, police said, but they are pulling cameras from neighboring areas as they continue their investigation.
