Driver arrested after hitting a 13-year-old on a bike in Spring, deputies say

A driver accused of hitting a 13-year-old boy riding his bicycle and leaving the scene has been arrested, according to Constable Mark Herman’s Office.

The arrest was made near FM 1488 and Magnolia Ridge Boulevard after deputies with the Special Operations and K-9 Unit tracked down the suspect. The crash happened in the 3800 block of FM 2920 near Falvel Road.

Officials say the teen was riding his bike when he was struck. The driver did not stop to help and left the scene.

The child was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been released.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the driver or the charges they may face.

The investigation is ongoing.
