As hurricane season looms around the corner, it’s never too early to prepare.
In fact, it might even be imperative to start getting ready now, considering a newly obtained internal review (according to a report from CNN) warned that the Federal Emergency Management Agency is also “not ready” to respond to a major disaster.

We are pressing on, though, and organizations like CenterPoint Energy are working to ensure Houston residents have access to the tools and safety tips necessary to get ready for the upcoming hurricane season.
On Saturday, CenterPoint Energy is sponsoring what is said to be “the largest hurricane preparedness event in Texas” with a safety expo at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
It’s called the Houston Disaster Readiness and Resilience Expo and will be held Saturday, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. It’s a free exhibit that offers residents to learn from local experts how to gear up for hurricane season and severe weather challenges. Parking is also free!
KPRC 2’s Brittany Jeffers will be meeting with CenterPoint Energy experts on Friday to see how organizers are preparing and what else attendees should expect.
