Highway 146 reopens in Baytown after driver runs red light, causes multi-vehicle crash

BAYTOWN, Texas – Baytown Police say Highway 146 at Kilgore Parkway has been reopened after a multi-vehicle crash caused by a driver running a red light.

Police say the crash happened around 5 p.m. They say a vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 146 drove around stopped traffic at a red light and entered the intersection, colliding with a vehicle turning onto Highway 146 from Kilgore Parkway.

The collision caused one of the vehicles to flip into the southbound lanes, striking a third vehicle, which was then pushed into a fourth vehicle.

One driver was flown to a hospital by helicopter. Three others from other vehicles were taken to a hospital by ambulance. The driver of the fourth vehicle was treated and released at the scene.

The conditions of those hospitalized is unknown at this time.
