Taylor pled guilty to the 2024 stabbing and murder.

The incident happened on Oct. 9, 2024, when Texas City police responded to a Wendy’s fast-food restaurant on Palmer Highway.

A man covered in blood, identified as Taylor, showed up and asked employees to call police.

Taylor told officers at the scene that he had killed his mother and gave them her address. Taylor also had self-inflicted bloody wounds on both arms and was taken to a hospital to be treated.

When police arrived at Taylor’s mother’s home, they discovered a chaotic and bloody scene. Regina McIntyre, Taylor’s mother, was found severely injured on the floor with a machete laying next to her.

She was flown to UTMB hospital where she died from her injuries.

The machete was later confirmed to be the murder weapon. Lab analysis of the blood recovered from Taylor’s clothing and body matched his mother’s DNA, according to the district attorney’s office.

Following an investigation, Taylor was charged with murder and in an interview admitted he had killed his mother with the machete.

A medical examiner discovered at least 25 lacerations on McIntyre’s body during an autopsy.

Taylor was facing five years to life in prison. He accepted a plea bargain, pleading guilty before being sentenced to 50 years in prison.

The surviving family members approved of the plea agreement and were present for the plea, according to the district attorney’s office.
