MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Look, we all have our off days and feel like we woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but this is certainly not the way to handle emotions.

Investigators said a former inmate at the Montgomery County Jail took a large rock and threw it through the front door at the Sheriff’s Office.

Based on the preliminary details shared in a news release, this all happened on Mother’s Day around 11 a.m. when Jordan Oneal, 22, was caught on video throwing the rock through the glass doors. An elderly woman sitting in the lobby was hit by the shards and suffered some cuts on her right leg. Oneal took off in his vehicle shortly afterward.

Officials described Oneal as a “career criminal” with an investigation revealing he was recently released from Montgomery County jail on April 22.

MCSO’s SWAT team managed to find Oneal later on in Conroe, where he was taken into custody without an incident and brought back into the facility through the same doors he’d previously tried to destroy.

When detectives asked Oneal why he did what he did, the 22-year-old said he “woke up angry and was having a bad day.”

Montgomery Co. Sheriff Wesley Doolittle issued the following statement responding to Oneal’s motives.

“We all have bad days, but this kind of criminal behavior against our facilities, our citizens, and the men and women who serve this county will not be tolerated. Those who act violently toward our citizens, our law enforcement, and county government property will be held accountable for their criminal behavior. Our citizens and our staff are entitled to the right to live, visit, work, and worship in a safe community. We will not stand by while bad actors attempt to intimidate or harm the citizens of Montgomery County. We will fervently protect this county and use every legal means available to hold bad actors accountable for their criminal behavior.”
