Man accused of shooting, killing younger brother in North Harris County

HOUSTON – A Mother’s Day weekend turned tragic Saturday night when deputies say a man was shot and killed by his own brother inside a north Harris County home.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Eduardo Alfaro Jr. had gone to the home on North Vista Drive to take his mother out for the evening.

But investigators say an argument broke out between Eduardo and his older brother, 50-year-old Charles Storey—who was possibly intoxicated at the time.

Deputies responded to the residence in the 700 block of North Vista around 7:30 p.m.

They found Eduardo with multiple gunshot wounds in an upstairs bedroom. He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

According to detectives, the brothers got into an argument in the presence of their mother. At some point, investigators say Storey pulled out a gun and shot Eduardo multiple times.

While deputies were still inside the home rendering aid, they heard movement in the same room where Eduardo was found. They discovered Storey hiding in the bedroom and immediately detained him.

“He was still in the bedroom while we were rendering aid,” said Detective Mario Quintanilla. “Deputies backed out and secured a warrant to process the scene.

”Storey was transported to 601 Lockwood for questioning and later charged with murder. He is currently booked in the Harris County Jail.

Investigators say the motive is still under investigation, but the case will be reviewed by the district attorney’s office.
