Elderly man arrested after killing man with car following disagreement in League City

An elderly man in League City has been arrested after allegedly striking and killing someone with his car following an argument.

Ted Cassell, 78, has been charged with murder.

Just before 5 p.m. on May 10, officials in League City were alerted to a pedestrian being hit by a car. When they arrived at the scene, they initiated life-saving measures on a 72-year-old man who had been struck by a truck.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the incident.

Cassell remained at the scene with his white Ford F-150 pickup truck. Witnesses said that Cassell was in a verbal altercation with several people, including the victim.

Cassell was taken into custody later that night. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.
