Authorities are searching for a man who was captured on video reaching into a tank and stealing a turtle from a Spring pet store.
The incident happened on April 2 at The Teacher Creature Store in Spring.

A man wearing a white, long-sleeve collared shirt with light khaki pants is seen walking towards a terrarium before reaching in and grabbing a baby albino red-eared slider. This particular breed of turtle is worth around $100.
The man casually walks around the store holding the reptile and his cell phone for a little over a minute. Then, he is seen walking out with the turtle.
The Teacher Creature Store provided KPRC 2 with footage of the theft:
Paul Van Fleet, one of the store’s owners, reached out to KPRC 2 for help. He explained that, due to the turtles’ size, the store is only allowed to sell them to educators, which he suspects could have contributed to the theft.
“We are hoping to get our turtle back,” he said.
The store has also reported the theft to Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
