The ruling upholds the sale of the festival and its assets, which include both the TRF property and an adjacent property.
The legal conflict started in April 2023 when a group of buyers agreed to purchase the TRF and its assets from Coulam. According to court documents, when the closing date arrived in August 2023, the defendants reportedly failed to follow through on the agreement, leading to the lawsuit.
The TRF is continuing operations as planned for the 2025 season.
Following the court’s ruling, the Texas Renaissance Festival took to Facebook to reassure its patrons that festival operations will continue as planned for the 2025 season. In a post on May 7, the festival emphasized that their commitment to delivering a “safe, vibrant, and memorable experience” for the hundreds of thousands of guests who visit each year remains unchanged.
Texas Renaissance Festival sent this statement to KPRC 2 regarding the trial:
The commitment will remain unchanged: to deliver a safe, vibrant, and memorable experience for the hundreds of thousands of guests who visit each year. Festival operations are moving forward as planned for the 2025 season and beyond.
