The woman, identified as 33-year-old Jennifer Jesselle Perez Rodriguez, was shot around 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Del Papa Food Store near Milan Drive and East Anderson Road. She’s now facing federal charges for allegedly threatening agents with a machete.

According to the court documents, FBI, DEA, and Homeland Security agents were wrapping up an “unaccompanied child welfare check” in the area when Rodriguez approached their unmarked vehicles. Surveillance video from the store shows Rodriguez walking into the middle of East Anderson Road, pulling out a machete, and waving it toward the FBI agent’s vehicle. Investigators say she then began running at the vehicle before moving out of the camera’s frame.
