Woman climbs cell tower in Baytown—Here’s what we know

BAYTOWN – A woman was spotted climbing a cell phone tower in Baytown early Wednesday, prompting a swift response from police.

Officers were called out to the 600 block of East Murrill Avenue just after sunrise, where they found a 38-year-old woman already on the tower. Fortunately, she made her way down safely without incident.

Police detained the woman and took her to a local medical facility for evaluation. Authorities say no one was hurt, and the situation was handled peacefully.

It’s still unclear why the woman climbed the tower, but officials are continuing to look into the incident.
