Ammunition left on church property led to early dismissal of St. Laurence Catholic School in Sugar Land

SUGAR LAND, Texas – Sugar Land police confirm ammunition which was found last week was the cause of the early dismissal of St. Laurence Catholic School.

The incident happened last Thursday.

The ammunition was discovered at the adjacent St. Laurence Catholic Church.

Sugar Land police said the school’s decision to close early was made out of an abundance of caution.

Police detained a person of interest in connection to the incident.

It is unclear at this time how much ammunition was found.
