Motorcyclist killed after colliding with SUV in west Harris County

A motorcyclist was killed after he collided with an SUV in west Harris County.

The collision happened just before 8 p.m. Sunday night.

A 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated was traveling westbound in the 11900 block of W. Little York Road. The rider was operating within the center of the roadway and outside the clearly marked lanes of travel.

The driver of a 2015 Nissan Murano was exiting a private driveway that accesses the business parking lot. The driver was attempting to cross the westbound lanes to travel eastbound when the motorcycle struck the SUV.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcyclist was passing in a no-passing zone prior to the collision. The rider, identified as Ricardo Barraza, was found without signs of life at the scene.

The Murano driver was identified as Jesse Germany. He was transported to a local hospital and is reportedly in stable condition. Authorities said Germany cooperated with the investigation and did not show signs of impairment.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
