A Livingston man is accused of impersonating an FBI agent and using his ex-girlfriend’s personal information to try and finance a new truck, all while carrying a stash of guns and ammunition in his car.

Court records say Daniel Field went to a Tomball dealership earlier this week, filled out a credit application for a Ram 3500 pickup, and claimed he was a “Special Agent” with the U.S. Department of Justice.

He even handed over a business card with that title, but an investigation later revealed that his ex-girlfriend was actually the one who was an FBI agent.

Court records claim Field also listed his ex-girlfriend’s name, date of birth, and Social Security number on the application without her knowing. She admitted to police that she shares a child with Field, but their relationship had ended more than a month before all this happened.

When officers searched Field’s Tesla before towing it from the dealership, they said a variety of weapons and ammunition were found inside.

According to court records, the vehicle had a 5.56 mm rifle with a drum magazine loaded with 59 rounds, a Glock 19 pistol with an extended magazine holding 26 rounds — including one chambered — along with additional boxes of 9mm, 7.62mm, and 5.56mm ammo. Investigators also found a blue FBI jacket in the trunk.

Authorities later learned Field owns an online gun store called “Gun Pro,” according to an affidavit.

Field is currently being held in the Harris County Jail on charges of impersonating a public servant and fraud involving identifying information, with a bond set at $15,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.
