According to a news release, the Switch 2 will be released on June 5, as promised in early April. Pre-orders will begin April 24.
This comes after market conditions amid an ongoing trade war caused some apprehension for the release date. However, Nintendo has since confirmed on Friday that the bundles for games that include Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza will also be available.
“We apologize for the retail pre-order delay, and hope this reduces some of the uncertainty our customers may be experiencing,” Nintendo said in a statement. “We thank our customers for their patience, and we share their excitement to experience Nintendo Switch 2 starting June 5, 2025.”
This doesn’t mean price adjustments to future products aren’t possible. In other words, Nintendo noted based on “changes in market conditions,” some individual accessories like Joy-Con controllers could be adjusted.
