Easter Sunday took an unexpected turn this year for Jamaica Beach.

While most of the community was searching for eggs in celebration, local authorities uncovered something much more sinister on the shores of West End Beach: large quantities of packaged narcotics.

Attention Residents: Galveston Police and Jamaica Beach Police, or not finding Easter eggs on Easter Sunday, but instead packages of cocaine, it seems there was a raid on the ship offshore and the crew started dumping large amounts overboard, and it’s washing up on the coast line. If you see, please call the Jamaica Beach Police Department if you notice any signs of packages on the West End beach.

The Jamaica Beach Police Department reported on the findings late Sunday morning. They speculated that there was a raid on an offshore ship, and the crew dumped packages filled with cocaine overboard to avoid detection.

If you come across any packages of illegal drugs—such as the one pictured—please contact Jamaica Beach PD at 409-737-1142.
