Kingwood man charged with murder after alleged fentanyl sale turns deadly

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder after deputies say he sold fentanyl that led to another man’s death in Kingwood.

Deputies with Harris County Precinct 4 executed a warrant in the Kingwood area for Brandon Wayne Seamans.

According to investigators, Seamans was connected to a fatal overdose and was later identified as the individual who sold the deadly dose of fentanyl.

Following his arrest, Seamans was taken to the Montgomery County Jail.

In Texas, a person can be charged with murder if they provide or sell drugs that directly lead to another person’s death. Under state law, prosecutors may pursue murder charges in overdose cases when there’s evidence the suspect knowingly distributed a lethal substance like fentanyl.
