Man shot by girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend riding a bicycle in north Houston

HOUSTON – Authorities in north Houston are looking for a man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend’s new partner overnight Tuesday.

It happened around 2 a.m. on Sweetwater Lane and W Nelda Road near the North Freeway Service Road.

According to Houston police, this was the second time they received a call about the unidentified ex-boyfriend.

“What occurred tonight...really started previously,” Lt. J.P. Horelica with HPD explained. There was an incident [Monday] where a male shot at his ex-girlfriend and that was reported."

The circumstances of how everything unfolded in the initial report are unclear. During the second incident, Lt. Horelica said the woman and her boyfriend were in her truck when the ex-boyfriend, riding a bicycle, came over and shot into the truck, hitting her new beau.

The new boyfriend was rushed to a nearby trauma center, where at last check was in serious condition. The ex meanwhile, remains at large, as of this writing, but police know who he is and are actively searching for him.
