SKY 2 aerials showed the bus belonged to HISD, and the district later confirmed it was carrying six students — all from Lanier Middle School and Lamar High School. Thankfully, all the students are safe.
The bus driver, however, was taken to a hospital for treatment. HISD says they’ve contacted families and are sending another bus to make sure the students get home safely.
According to the district, the bus was rear-ended by a driver who didn’t have a license. That person received multiple citations, and HISD Police are now leading the investigation. Houston Fire Department was also on the scene.
