At around the same time, officers spotted a black Mustang that matched the stolen vehicle near Cliff Tuttle Park. When they tried to pull the car over, the driver accelerated toward them. One of the officers fired several shots at the vehicle as it sped off.
The suspects then led officers on a brief pursuit that ended when the Mustang struck a curb near Force Street and North Wayside, causing the vehicle to come to a stop. Three suspects, 18, 19, and 20, were taken into custody without any injuries reported.
During the investigation, authorities found a stolen gun inside the Mustang, and an AR-style rifle was recovered after being thrown from the vehicle as the pursuit continued on Wayside.
As of now, the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not released the identities of the suspects involved in the incident.
