Officials in Houston are asking for the public’s help identifying the man behind an “April Fools’ Day” foiled bank robbery in southwest Houston. The man allegedly threatened his own family during the attempted heist.
FBI Houston’s Violent Crime Task Force said the robbery occurred at approximately 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, at the PNC Bank located at 7414 South Sam Houston Parkway in southwest Houston.

The suspect entered the bank, approached the counter, and handed the teller a note threatening his own family and demanding money.
Unshaken by the frightening situation, the teller was able to walk to a secure part of the bank away from the robber.
With no teller to present to assist him, the suspect eventually departed without any money. No one was physically hurt during the incident.
The robber is described as a male in his late 40s, approximately 6 feet tall, with a slim build. During the robbery, he wore a black hoodie, black pants, and black-and-white sneakers.
Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the robber.
