Waller County officials search for person captured on video lighting car on fire in driveway

Authorities in Waller County are searching for a person seen on video starting a fire in the backseat of a vehicle parked in a driveway at night.

The incident happened at 11:17 p.m. on the night of April 3 and was shared to Facebook by the Waller County Fire Marshal’s Office.

In the footage from a Ring security camera, a person wearing a black hoodie, blue pants and black sneakers is seen approaching a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home.

The person pops the window open of the right back seat and walks away. They return with an item that appears to be a bag or bottle filled with fire accelerant. The perp lights the item on fire, drops it in the car and runs away. Then, they are seen getting into a white midsize vehicle parked next door and driving away.
